MULE+ for Mean Hamster Power Engine - development version 0.14

Native adaptation by Mean Hamster Software.
Economy research and adapted formulas: DOS MULE 0.61 by Toni Rasanen
(Imagination / Highway), released August 2000.

Adapted portions include nominal resource prices, MULE training costs,
terrain food/energy/ore yields, neighboring-production bonuses and the
25-percent-floor energy-shortage formula from mule.c. Credit belongs to
Toni Rasanen for these portions. His custom reuse terms are retained in
UPSTREAM-TERMS.txt; the archive website's tags are not a GPL license.

Changes: a new fixed-memory C++ core, deterministic random generator,
320x200 indexed Prism+ presentation, simultaneous four-player snapshots,
native MPE timing, bounded auctions, new AI and between-month saves. The 0.3
pass adds walking town/colony play, following/refitting/relocating MULEs, pub,
assay/Wampus, food-based clocks, pause and an original SID motif/effects.
Outfitting prices are retuned toward the original game's player guide.
The 0.4 pass adds original illustrated gameplay backgrounds, terrain/facility
tiles, animated walking sprites, player portraits and a revised interface.
The 0.5 pass adds a seven-page F1 game guide, context-sensitive opening,
frozen gameplay while reading and safe return to the prior pause state.
The DOS executable, artwork, music and hardware drivers are not included.
The 0.6 pass adds three modes, eight colonists with Flapper/Humanoid handicaps,
land auctions and sales, private deals, 21 personal and eight colony events,
four-human joystick/adapter controls, revised production/scarcity/pricing,
animated Wampus/escapes and colony-success/failure endings. It adds six
original SID themes and distinct action cues, with twelve guide pages and
version-three saves that migrate earlier summary saves. Its rules, event
wording/magnitudes, graphics and music are adaptations, not a binary replica.

The 0.9 pass adds flat town buildings, complete native-pixel walkers, wider MULE
following distance, an updated generated logo and a newly authored title cartoon.
Its credits, logo assembly, marching MULE and eight-colonist parade use original
MULE+ artwork. The optional private opening retains Roy Glover's title music,
using separately supplied, fingerprinted HVSC /GAMES/M-R/M_U_L_E.sid. Original
music and converted SID data stay outside Git. Roy Glover and the original
creators receive on-screen credit. This source option does not relicense the
original music. The default build uses the new MULE+ menu and SID score.

M.U.L.E. was created by Dan Bunten and Ozark Softscape. This development
adaptation is not an official Ozark Softscape release.
Title and gameplay artwork: original assets generated with the built-in image
tool, adapted to the canonical Prism+ palette; see art/README.md and the included
ART-PROMPTS.json for prompts and asset layout. Resource symbols, interface
materials and 5x7 font: original MULE+ presentation code.
Prism+ and NUFLIX retain their separate component notices.
